The Nami Competition was established to provide opportunities for creation and presentation to picture book illustrators around the world and to contribute to the improvement of picture book illustration, and is sponsored by Nami Island in Korea.

2,069 works from 95 countries were applied to the Nami Concours, which was held for the fifth time this year, and international judges from South Africa, Russia, Belgium, Japan, and South Korea selected 18 finalists through strict screening.
